Dear Jared, Jensen, and Misha,
I’m writing you with a request. Don’t worry it’s not anything incriminating or humiliating, I promise. But it is still pretty big. You see, about two months ago I started a project/movement to get the Supernatural Cast and Crew to make an “It Gets Better” video (itgetsbetter.org). What I’m trying to accomplish with this project (named Supernatural: It Gets Better) is to have you and the rest of the Supernatural Family reach out to the Fandom the way only you can. I’m asking for all of you to give hope to your fans by making a video to tell them to hang in there, because it does get better.
The goal is $20,000 by the time the baby is born. We still have 5 months to go and are already half way there.
Jared and Genevieve Padalecki are expecting their first baby!! In lieu of gifts, they are asking their fans to donate to the St Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
As Jared tweeted, “Lets make the world a brighter place for those not as fortunate.”
When the baby is born, we will be sending Jared and Gen a card with the names of all of the donors.
Congratulations Jared and Gen!! Supernatural fans are so very happy for you!!!

We’ve all seen the videos, from the Glee cast, the True Blood cast, and even Pixar. You know the project and you know how you feel after watching a video from your favorite people asking you to hold on a little while longer cause right now it not the best it can get - It gets better.
But with all these videos from all these people we are still missing them from a few that I know can really make a difference: The Supernatural Family. Imagine coming on to tumblr or going to youtube and seeing a video from Jensen Ackles or Jared Padalecki or Misha Collins or even Ben Edlund and Eric Kripke. Imagine watching them smile at you through the camera and saying, “You can make it. You are amazing and if you just hang in there everything will get better.” How good would you feel knowing that once again the cast and crew is acknowledging us, acknowledging you, and this time they are hitting us in a spot that is so prominent but often hidden? They are letting us know that they know times get tough and life can suck so hard at time, they do deal with that on Supernatural all the time, but it isn’t the end. Not yet. And things are gonna turn around and get better and soon you’ll be smiling again and laughing and thinking, “Hey, it really did get better.”
If you can picture all of that, if you want to see videos like that from the Supernatural Cast and Crew, then help us get their attention. I know that everyone have different ways of getting a hold of the actors an writers (fan mail, twitter, cons, etc.) So let’s use what we have and try to make this happen. The Supernatural Cast and Crew has a lot of sway and power, they can and have made huge differences before. So why stop now?
To start, you can help try and trend #SupernaturalItGetsBetter. Or if you are going to a convention, try to bring it up at the Q&A or autographs signings. Or you can even send letters to them. Any way you can get your voice heard is worth a show. So please, if you like the idea, make some noise and kick some waves in the water.
