This angel is the the legendary author of The Book of the Angel Raziel —“wherein all celestial and earthly knowledge is set down.” The Book of the Angel Raziel is reputed to contain the 1,500 keys to the mysteries of the universe. Unfortunately, they are written in a language so arcane and impossible to decifer (without presumably the aid of Raziel himself) that not even the greatest angels of heaven are able to figure it out.
I want fic of Dean and Sam finding this book and calling Cas to help them read it, but Cas can’t but he knows who can. So they find Raziel, except he’s kind of like Mayhem and he refuses to read it (at least read it correctly) and he throws Dean and Sam in a ton of loops and just laughs every time they fail. Eventually he does help them because he gets bored, but they only find that the “mysteries” are just dumb things like “the five second rule is actually infinite. You can leave a food on the floor for days and it’ll still be good to eat.”
