More about talking with my mom...
So the conversation started with my mom asking me about the name change and saying that my sister believes I really want to be a guy. Instead of saying yeah, it’s true, I asked “What would you do if I said I did?” My mom just shrugged and said, “Nothing. But where did it come from all of a sudden.”

Good news. I talked to my mom and she doesn't...
She said, “It’s your life and no matter what you choose, you’re still my child. I love you anyways.”
She also said that I’ll always be her daughter. Which I took to mean that no matter who I become I’ll always be the same person on the inside, and that’s what my mom is paying attention to.
I feel better about this now.
